Bill Nicholson is co-founder of TripCraft, an exciting, new technology start-up that has developed the hotel industry’s most robust enterprise mobile platform and mobile device application for the distribution of rich hotel content, bookings, on-property services and destination information to consumers. His leadership role there allows him to leverage his extensive experience in travel and technology. Day to day, Nicholson is responsible for TripCraft’s strategy, operations, marketing and sales. Along with co-founder Mike Murray, he is also actively involved in business development.
Nicholson is most known for his work at Pegasus Solutions, where he played a major role in developing many hotel industry technology “firsts,” such as the first GDS and Internet distribution platform for hotels, TravelWeb.com, and the first travel agency commission payment processing system. During his tenure with Pegasus, Nicholson served in numerous capacities, including president, chief operating officer and chief information officer.
After serving nearly 15 years at Pegasus, Nicholson joined SynXis in 2005, an emerging hotel technology company that was acquired by Sabre Holdings. There he served as president and general manager until mid-2006. SynXis developed and deployed central reservations and private-labeled web site technology for leading hotel companies around the world. During his tenure there, he led the company’s growth, global expansion and integration into the larger holding company.
Most recently Nicholson provided professional services to a number of travel and technology companies including Sabre Holdings, Harland Clarke and HomeAway.
Nicholson has served on the boards of directors of two portfolio companies of HM Capital Partners: Activant Solutions and Realm Business Solutions. He also has served on the executive advisory board of the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA).
Nicholson’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Texas A&M University-Commerce and graduate work from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. When not working on TripCraft, he likes spending time with his family, golfing, flying and training for marathon and triathlon events.
